Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut a strip of Georgette fabric 3 inches by 45 inches.

    • 2

Fold the fabric strip on top of itself at 2-inch intervals.

    • 3

Turn the fabric so that one cut edge is at the top. Measure down from the top point 1 1/2 inches. Cut a rounded point from the 1 1/2-inch mark to the center top of the folded strip. Repeat the process on the opposite side to form the point of the lotus petal.

    • 4

Set the sewing machine to the longest stitch and the tightest tension. Sew a 1/4-inch seam along the 45-inch uncut edge. This setting will cause the Georgette fabric to gather during the stitching process.

    • 5

Begin on one end of the strip and squeeze a line of hot glue along 8 to 10 inches of the 1/4-inch seam. Roll the end of the strip on top of itself to form the center of the flower. Continue to squeeze a line of hot glue and roll the seam until the flower is complete.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sew or hot glue a hair clip, lapel pin or corsage strap to the back of the flower. Add a green leaf if desired.
