Masks come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but they can be customized to allow corrective viewing.

You shouldn't be denied the opportunity to see the underwater world because you are near or far sighted. Special prescription lenses can be purchased for a range of masks that can be added to the mask allowing you to view through the mask the same way you would your glasses. You should make sure that you buy the correct lenses for the right snorkeling mask as this is important for comfort and fit.

Pop the mask's original lenses out of their retaining grooves.

    • 3

Check the seal skirt around the lens area for damage.

    • 4

Push the new lenses into the retaining grooves. Pop the retaining clip back on the top of the mask.

    • 5

Put the mask on your face, inhale though your nose and let it go. The mask should be held against your face if there are no leaks.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also buy adhesive lenses for certain masks that simply are stuck to the back of the existing lens. Check with your local dive mask supplier to find out what prescriptive options are available for your mask design.
