You can add and remove up to six active devices for Netflix streaming.

Netflix started in 1998 as an online movie rental business, offering seven-day DVD rentals by mail. Ten years later, the wide availability of broadband Internet made online streaming of movies and TV shows possible, and Netflix began offering streaming, initially to computers and later to Internet-enabled devices like the Xbox, PlayStation, HD TVs and Blu-ray players. However, you must first activate these devices with a code on the Netflix website, where you can also deactivate, then reactivate them, if need be.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a browser window and go to the Netflix site. Click "Member Sign In" and enter your email address and password.

    • 2

Click "Your Account & Help." Click "Manage Netflix Ready Devices and Computers" in the "Watching Instantly on Your TV or Computer" panel.

    • 3

Click "Deactivate" next to the device you want to deactivate. Click "OK."

    • 4

Start the Netflix application on your device, note the activation code displayed on your TV screen, then click "Activate a Device" on the "Manage Netflix Ready Devices and Computers" page. Enter the code in the text box and click "Activate." Activation takes approximately one minute, and the Netflix application on your device loads automatically.
