How to Close Email in Mac

Apple Mail, the default email application in Mac OS X, is relatively noninvasive and many Mac users leave it open in the background while working on other things. However, if you use your Mac for heavy-duty work such as design, photo or video editing that requires a lot of RAM, leaving Apple Mail open in the background can slow down your Mac. When you leave Mail open, it automatically checks for new messages every few minutes -- depending on your settings -- and this can suck up some of the RAM you need for powerful applications. Closing out Apple Mail is an easy solution to this problem.
