How to Reinstall Chrome

Google Chrome offers users an intuitive interface and fast Web page loading. However, some websites are not configured to work with Chrome, which can cause problems for Chrome that may ultimately crash your computer or cause it not to perform properly. These events could cause you to uninstall Google Chrome from your system. If you feel like giving Google Chrome a second chance, re-installing the Web browser can be done in a few quick steps.

  • Click the "Start" icon on the Windows task bar.

  • Click "All Programs" and then click "Google Chrome."

  • Click "Uninstall Google Chrome" to remove Google Chrome from your system.

  • Open your Web browser and navigate to Click "Download Google Chrome."

  • Click "Accept and Install" on the next Web page. Google Chrome downloads to your system automatically. When the download is complete, Chrome automatically installs itself to your machine. The installation may take several minutes. When the installation is complete, a pop-up dialog window appears.

  • Click "Start Google Chrome" in the dialog window that appears. Google Chrome launches and a dialog box appears asking if you would like to keep Google as the default search engine. Click "Keep Google as the default search engine" or "Change search engine" to complete the installation process. Some computers display a window with three search engine choices: Google, Yahoo! and Bing. Click the button marked "Choose" under the search engine you want to use to complete the installation process.
