How to Take Screenshots With Your Webcam

Connecting a webcam to your computer allows you to record videos and visually chat with people. You can also take pictures with your webcam by showing the camera view on your computer monitor's display and taking a screenshot. These screenshots can then be saved as picture files on your computer.

Instructions

1. Open your Internet browser. Click the address bar and enter the Test Webcam address (see Resources).

2. Click on the "Allow" button. This will display your webcam on the screen.

3. Press "Ctrl' and "Print Scrn" on your keyboard at the same time. This will take a still shot of the image displayed on your computer screen.

4. Click the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Click "Accessories," and then select "Paint."

5. Press "Ctrl" and "V" on your keyboard at the same time to paste the screenshot into the Paint program.

6. Click the "Crop" button at the top of the screen. Use the crop function to remove parts of the picture so only the image of the webcam remains.

7. Click "File," then "Save." Choose a location on your computer where you would like to save the screenshot. Enter a name for your file and click "Save."
