How to Export All Contacts to a VCard

A vCard is a digital business card that may be exported from a Microsoft Outlook contact. When a contact is exported, their email address, phone number and any other stored information is exported to a vCard file. A vCard file has a file extension of ".vcf." All contacts in a contact list may be exported at once from Microsoft Outlook. However, a confirmation dialog box will appear for each entry. You will need to verify the export for each contact entry.

  • Open Microsoft Outlook and click on "Contacts" in the left pane. The Contacts list expands.

  • Press and hold the "SHIFT" key while you click on the first contact entry to export.

  • Continue holding the "SHIFT" key and click on the last contact entry in the contact list. All contacts are highlighted.

  • Click on a highlighted contact, and then drag the list of contacts out of the left pane of Outlook. Drop the files onto the desktop. A confirmation dialog box appears for each exported vCard.

  • Click "OK" for each contact entry. A vCard file is created on the desktop for each contact entry.
