How to Create a Redirect Domain on Plesk

Save

Many website hosting companies use Plesk software to manage accounts and provide customers with an online content management system. Using Plesk allows the Web host's customers to upload content to their own websites and monitor website bandwidth usage and visitor statistics. Plesk software also allows users to control access to the website and to redirect the website domain to another domain address. To set up a domain redirect on Plesk, log in to your user control panel and use the Forwarding feature.

  • Log in to the Plesk user control panel.

  • Click "Domains" in the "General" section of the user control panel.

  • Click the domain name that you want to redirect.

  • Click the "Hosting Options" button. Click the check box beside "Forwarding" to select and enable this option. On some versions of Plesk, you'll need to click the check box beside "Frame Forwarding."

  • Type the full website address for the new domain into the input field. This should include the "http://www" address prefix. Click "Switch On" to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can permanently redirect domains and subdomains on Plesk by following this procedure. Test the redirect by opening your Web browser and typing the original domain name into the address bar. The browser should now automatically forward you to the new website domain.
