You use the on-screen TV guide to see what's on television, set your digital video recorder to record a program and even search for a show or movie by title or program type. When your Time Warner DVR's on-screen guide freezes or doesn't respond, before calling customer service and scheduling an appointment with a technician, reset the DVR box. After resetting the DVR, the guide displays "To Be Announced" for all the channels while it gathers the correct information.
Press the "Power" button on your remote or the DVR to turn off your Time Warner DVR box.
Unplug the DVR from the electrical outlet.
Wait 30 seconds and plug the box back into the outlet.
Wait until the digital clock displays the correct time to turn the DVR back on.
