How to Create a Confidential Mailing List in Google
If you have an email message that you want to send to a group of people and you want to keep the list of recipients confidential, you might want to use Google's Gmail service to send it to them. When you compose an email message that goes to multiple people, you can put their addresses in the "Bcc" (Blind carbon copy) box. You can create a group of people for your mailing list using the "New Group" feature in Gmail, and then send the message to everyone in the group, with no one seeing who else is getting a copy of the message.

1
Log in to your Gmail account.

2
Click "Contacts" on left side of the page, and then click "New Group." A dialog box opens. Type a name for your confidential mailing list, and then click "OK." The name of your new group appears under "My Contacts" in the left side of the page. The new group is empty until you add email addresses to it.

3
Click the name of the group you just created. Click "Add to (group name)," and then type or paste an email address in the text box that appears when you want to add email addresses manually.
-
4
Click "My Contacts" to show your existing contacts if you want to add addresses from your general contacts to your confidential mailing list group. Click the check box next to each email address that you want to add to the confidential mailing list group, then click "Groups," then click the name of the mailing list group from the pop-up menu, and then click "Apply."
-
5
Click the "Compose Mail" button on the left side of the page. A blank message appears. Type your own email address in the "To" field, or click the "To" link, then click your email address from your contacts list, and then click "Done."
-
6
Click the "Add Bcc" link. Click the "Bcc" link. The "Choose from Contacts" window appears. Click the pull-down menu, and then click the name of your confidential mailing list group. The email addresses in the list appear in the window. Click the "Select All" link, and then click "Done." The email addresses automatically are added to the "Bcc" field.
-
7
Type a subject in the "Subject" box. Type your message in the main email window, and then click "Send." Each person in your confidential list will receive a copy of the email message, without seeing the names of anyone else in the list. The email will show that is sent to your address, with the recipient's address in the Bcc field.
