Turn your video from day to night.

After Effects is a video editing and postwork application sold by Adobe. If you want to create special effects in a video, After effects can be used to create them. It can even be used to address mistakes in filming. For example, if you choose to film a certain scene in the daylight, but realized later it would have been better at night, you can reshoot the scene. Just use the tools of After Effects to darken the footage to nighttime levels.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the After Effects application and open a project containing footage you want to darken.

    • 2

Select "Effect" from the menu and choose "Color Correction." From the options, choose "Hue/Saturation." Select "Effect" and choose "Color Correction." From the options, choose "Curves."

    • 3

Reduce the color "Saturation" slider to -30. In the overall RGB channel, grab the top point in the "Curve" effect and drag it halfway down. Add a couple of extra points and pull them down slightly.

    • 4

Change to the "Red" channel in the "Curves" effect. Add a middle point and drag it down slightly. In the "Blue" channel add a middle point and drag it up slightly. Save your work.
