How to Hide Freckles
The pigment producing cells in the skin are called melanocytes. When melanocytes become damaged by the sun, we produce freckles. Freckles are an abnormal collection of melanin pigment on the epidermis. While many people like the look of freckles, others might be self-conscious and wish to hide them. While more permanent solutions to removing freckles include fading creams and laser treatments, people can hide their freckles easily everyday using makeup. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Moisturizer with sunscreen
- Exfoliating face wash
- Concealer
- Makeup sponge
- Foundation
- Pressed powder
- Makeup brush

Wash your face with an exfoliating cream. Pat dry and apply a moisturizer with a built-in high SPF sunscreen. Using sunscreen and avoiding exposure to the sun might help to fade freckles over time and keep new ones from forming.

Dab spots of concealer onto dark freckles to even out overall skin tone. Distribute foundation over the face using the makeup sponge. Apply foundation to the cheeks, chin and forehead then blend outward toward the hairline and neck. Apply more concealer to any freckles still visible through the foundation. Gently blend the foundation and concealer.

Apply pressed powder to the face using a large makeup brush. Swirl the brush around in the powder and tap off any excess. Apply the powder on the cheeks, chin and forehead, and then blend outward.

Tips & Warnings
Applying makeup in natural light can help you detect any problems areas.
Good concealer and foundation should "disappear"' on your skin, not change your natural coloring.
You might need different tones of foundation for summer and winter depending on the amount of sunlight you get.
Avoid tanning as much as possible. Wear a hat or sunglasses in addition to sunscreen to help protect the face.
