Instructions

    • 1

Clean a plastic juice bottle or peanut butter jar. Use a larger-mouth container for younger children and a smaller-mouth container for older children.

    • 2

Place the jar on the floor.

    • 3

Give the players the same number of clothespins. Color code them for each player or let the players decorate them themselves with markers and stickers.

    • 4

Have the players take turns attempting to drop as many clothespins in the container as possible. They must stand straight and not bend over the container. The player who gets the most clothespins in the container wins.

    • 5

Vary the game by placing the container behind a kitchen chair. Have the players kneel backward on the chair and drop the clothespins over the back of the chair.

Tips & Warnings

  • The old-fashioned style of clothespins (without the metal spring) are great for making into little people. Use the knob at the top as a head. Have players decorate the clothespins this way, then let them play with the clothespins after the game is over.

  • Don't let anyone clip the clothespins on their bodies. It could hurt.
