Resetting the cookies for a website removes any temporary Internet files from that website that are stored on your computer. Cookies are small files exchanged between your computer and a website's server to optimize that site to your personal needs. It's a good idea to wipe the cookies clean every so often to ensure you are viewing the most recent version of a page. Once you reset the cookies, the Craigslist site will appear as it did the first time you visited it.
Click the "Tools" button on the menu bar and point to the "Safety" option.
Click "Delete Browsing History." Click the "Cookies" box and click "Delete." Close the dialog window and revisit Craigslist.com to reset the cookies.
Open a Firefox window.
Click the "Firefox" button on the menu bar, and click "Preferences." Click the "Privacy" icon.
Click the "Firefox Will:" menu and click "Use custom settings for history." Click the "Show Cookies" button. Type "Craigslist" into the search field and click the "Cragislist.com" cookies. Click "Remove Cookie" to delete it. Close the dialog window and revisit Craigslist.com to reset the cookies.
Open a Google Chrome browser window.
Click the "Wrench" icon on the toolbar and click "Tools." Click "Clear Browsing Data."
Click the check box for "Cookies" and click "Clear Browsing Data." Close the dialog box and revisit Craigslist.com to reset the cookies.
