Instructions

    • 1

Draw a large equilateral triangle on one of your sheets of paper or cardboard. Then, draw a triangle of equal size on each of your three remaining sheets.

    • 2

Cut out one of your triangle shapes. Cut directly along the line that makes up the base of the triangle, but cut out the remaining sides at about 1/2-inch past the drawn lines. These excess areas will serve as tabs to help you more easily attach your pyramid pieces together. Repeat this step to cut out the remaining three triangles.

    • 3

Fold back each tab in order to help them more easily fold later on. Line up the tab of one side of one triangle with the tab of another side of another triangle, and glue them together. Allow the glue to dry before continuing.

    • 4

Glue another folded tab to one of the open folded tabs left in step 3. Allow the glue to dry. Repeat this step to attach the final triangle piece. You should now have a pyramid shape.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mathrevision.net has a guide to help you easily and accurately draw an equilateral triangle. To give your pyramid the appearance of being an ancient Egyptian pyramid, draw or paint blocks along the sides. Alternatively, spread glue across the entire piece and sprinkle sand on top.
