How to Update to Outlook 2010
Microsoft Outlook 2010 offers an upgraded feature set as well as improved performance over earlier versions of the Outlook software. You can acquire Outlook 2010 as a download from Microsoft, or you can purchase it from a brick-and-mortar store location. Once you have purchased a valid copy of the software and have a product key, you can begin the process of updating to Outlook 2010.

Insert the Outlook 2010 installation disc into the disc drive on your computer, or double-click the downloaded installation file. If you are installing from a disc, you will need to click "Run setup.exe" in the "AutoPlay" window that opens.

Type your product key into the field in the center of the window and then click "Continue." If you purchased Outlook 2010 from a store, the product key will be located on an orange sticker inside the package. If you downloaded Outlook, the product key was provided to you after your purchase.

Check the box to the left of "I accept the terms of this agreement" and then click "Continue."

Click "Upgrade" to update your current Outlook installation to Outlook 2010.

Tips & Warnings
The Outlook 2010 installation requires at least 2 GB of free hard drive space, so verify that you have this available before beginning the installation.
If you have installed other Office 2010 products on your system, you may have elected to keep your older Office products while also installing the 2010 version. However, Outlook 2010 cannot coexist with earlier versions of Outlook; its installation will automatically upgrade and replace the earlier version.
