How to Make Text in Gimp
Whether you are creating a sign, flier or poster, the text you use can be as important as the images. While the images draw the eye, the text is what conveys your message. You should create text that compliments your overall design. This can be done by altering the font, the color or editing the layers. If you are using the freeware application GIMP, you have many options for creating and editing your text to suit your project.
