How to Post on Craigslist Without an Account

A valid email address allows you to manage your Craigslist posting.

Craigslist is a classified ads website where you can list just about anything free. Whether you have an auto for sale, are looking for a new relationship or want to find a new job, there's a Craigslist category that fits your needs. Although you can place an ad with a Craigslist account, that step it optional. To post on Craigslist without an account, all you need is a valid email address.

Instructions

1. Navigate to Craigslist's website. If this is your first visit, click your city name.

2. Click "Post to Classifieds."

3. Click the radio button for the type of posting you want to place and then click "Continue." For example, click "For Sale."

4. Click the radio button for the category. For example, click the "Antiques" radio button.

5. Fill in the details for your ad. What you have to fill in depends upon your type of post, but in general you need a title and a description.

6. Type your email address twice into the "Email Address" fields and then click "Continue."

7. Review your posting and then click "Continue."

8. Type the captcha into the text box and then click "Continue."

9. Sign into your email and open the email from Craigslist. Click the link in the email to post your ad.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't delete the email -- you'll need it to edit or delete your posting.
