How to Fix Ustream Producer
Ustream Producer is a free application that allows you to stream in high quality from your computer via the Ustream website. It also allows you to manage video and audio sources, start and stop recordings, broadcast with Picture-in-Picture, create multiple transitions and more. A paid version called Ustream Producer Pro includes extras like unlimited cameras and unlimited transitions. Sometimes you can run into crashing problems at launch with Ustream Producer. Other issues can include the webcam video and audio output not showing in Producer.

Test your user ID and password if Producer crashes when you launch it. This problem can be due to the sign-up being incomplete. Go to the Ustream Web homepage (see Resources) and enter your login details by clicking on the link labeled "Login" at the top right corner of the page and following the prompts. If you haven't got an account, set one up before trying Producer again.

Reinstall Producer if you continue to have problems. Visit the Ustream Producer Web page (see Resources) and click on the "Download Mac" or "Download PC" link. Then follow the prompts to reinstall the software.

Verify that the settings are correct in Producer. From the "Settings" button, choose the right aspect ratio for your camera -- most webcams are 4:3. HD cams will be 16:9. Then click on the "Add Live Input" button and choose your camera if you don't see the webcam thumbnail in the bottom of the Producer window. Monitor the audio meter on the right and click on the "Change Sound" icon, and select the webcam you're using if the audio meter levels don't fluctuate when you perform a test by talking.
