How to Draw the Supersonics Logo
Since its inception into the NBA in 1967, the Seattle Supersonics have had a few different logos. However, the longest running and most widely recognizable logo features a yellow basketball, Seattle Skyline and green outlines. Drawing this logo is not a difficult activity, no matter how little experience you may have as an artist. Use the logo as a guideline to help you create this image and remain patient throughout all of the sections and details.

Draw a medium-sized circle in the middle of your piece of paper to represent the basketball, the main image in the Supersonics' logo. While the Supersonics' logo isn't a full circle, this guideline will help you create the rest of the image.

Draw a horizontal line in the middle of the circle to act as the center of the basketball. Draw a vertical line down the middle of the circle, as well. Use light pencil strokes or a ruler to help you with these lines if necessary.

Draw two curved lines, one on each side of the vertical line. Your circle should start to look like a basketball by this point. Erase the horizontal line between the curved lines and vertical line. Move below the horizontal line in the middle and erase a portion of the basketball's bottom half.

Sketch out each of the buildings below the horizontal line of the basketball, making sure that the space needle is drawn to the left of the vertical line. Use a ruler to help you draw these basic square-like buildings. Lightly sketch the curved lines of the space needle, using an oval-like shape to construct the roof.

Write the name "Seattle Supersonics" in a sans serif-type font, meaning no unusual letter characteristics. Refer to the logo you are using as a reference guide to assist you in accurately lettering this portion of the drawing.

Erase any unintended pencil marks. Outline all of the intended pencil marks of the logo with green. Color in each of the buildings of the skyline green as well. Color in the remaining features with yellow.
