The Apple iPad also comes preinstalled with iTunes software, which can be synced and updated through the PC. However, the iTunes app that is on the computer is different than the iTunes app on the iPad, so there can be some confusion and troubleshooting when connecting the two devices.

      Connect one end of the USB cable to the Apple iPad. Connect the other end to a USB port on the computer.

      iTunes opens automatically when the computer recognizes the iPad. If it does not, then click "Start" and click "All Programs." Click the "iTunes" folder and click "iTunes" to open the program.

      Click "Devices" and click on the iPad icon. Click the "Info" tab.

      Choose which media items you want to sync to the iPad from the computer. Check the box next to "Automatically sync contacts, calendars and bookmarks" if you want that option.
