Install and register AmpliTube to play your guitar through of all its virtual amplification and effects.

IK Multimedia's AmpliTube VST must be properly installed and registered before it can be used without limitation. AmpliTube provides users with the ability to play a guitar through a combination of virtual amplifiers, speaker cabinets and effects. The product's serial number and digital ID has to be entered into the Product Authorization Wizard screen, which directs you to the IK Multimedia website and gives you the authorization code. You can get AmpliTube integrated into your recording setup in less than 15 minutes.

      Insert the installation disc that came with your AmpliTube product into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow the on-screen prompts for initiating the installation process.

      Enter your serial number and digital ID into the appropriate fields on the Product Authorization Wizard screen when it appears, then click the "Register On Line" button. The product serial number and digital ID are both located on the registration card that came with your product. You will be directed to the IK registration website, where your authorization code will be provided to you.

      Copy and paste the registration code into the appropriate field on the following screen, then click "Next." Follow the on-screen prompts for completing the registration and installation process.

      Make the proper connections between your guitar, audio interface and computer. Plug a USB or Firewire cable into the back of the interface, then into an available USB or Firewire port on your computer. The type of cable you need depends on the model audio interface you own. Plug one end of an instrument cable into your guitar's output jack and the other end into one of the audio interface's "Input" jacks.

      Launch AmpliTube and configure your audio interface. Double-click the AmpliTube icon located on your desktop to open the application, then select your audio interface's name from the "Input Audio Interface" and "Output Audio Interface" menus. Select the specific audio interface channel which has the guitar plugged into it from this screen as well.

      Start browsing AmpliTube's presets. Click either the up or down arrow buttons on the preset manager to load a new preset into the program. A new combination of amplifiers, speaker cabinets and effects will be loaded from memory each time a preset is selected.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click "Save" at the top of the screen to save modifications to presets that have been made after editing. Alternatively, click "Save As" and store the modified preset under a new name.
