How to Poke Everyone Online on Facebook

You can poke people online using Facebook's chat and poke features.

Facebook's "Poke" feature is a way of virtually waving to your friends on the social networking site. Users are notified when they receive pokes from other people and have the option to poke them back in return. Facebook doesn't have a native feature that allows you to poke everyone who is online at a single point in time; you can only poke friends individually. However, you can find out which of your friends are online using the "Chat" feature and then poke them through their profiles.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account.

    • 2

Find the "Chat" button in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and click on it. This will display a list of all your Facebook contacts who are online. A green dot displays next to the names of your online friends.

    • 3

Go to the profile of each individual friend that is online either by clicking on her name or by typing her name into the search box at the top of the screen.

    • 4

Locate the "Poke" button on the right-hand side of her profile next to the "Chat" and "Send message" buttons. A dialogue box will appear confirming that you have poked her. Click "OK" to close the dialogue box.

Repeat this process for each friend that is listed as being online in the chat window. You will then have poked all of your friends who are online.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can only poke people with whom you have a relationship on Facebook, such as a friend or a friend of a friend.

  • You can also poke friends who are not online.
