How to Stop a Dripping Price-Pfister Shower Head
Repairing a dripping Price-Pfister shower head is often a matter of replacing the washer inside the neck of the shower head or the washer on the shower faucet valve stem. The rubber washers can eventually break down, allowing water to get through the washer and cause the shower head to drip. You can stop the dripping from the shower head with just a few common shop tools in less than an hour. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn off the water for the Price-Pfister shower head at the water main shut off valve, and turn on the shower faucet to let the water drain completely out of the faucet. Remove the shower head from the outlet pipe with a crescent wrench.

Remove the washer from inside the neck of the shower head, and clean any remaining debris from the neck of the shower head with a clean dry cloth. Place a new washer in the neck of the shower head, and wrap some plumbers tape around the threads of the outlet pipe.

Take the handle off the shower faucet with a screwdriver. Remove the faucet valve stem by turning it counterclockwise with a crescent wrench to unscrew the stem from the shower outlet.

Replace the rubber washer on the back of the valve stem, and insert the stem back into the outlet. Tighten the valve stem into the outlet clockwise with the crescent wrench.

Attach the shower faucet onto the valve stem with the screw, and turn the water supply back on at the shut off valve.
