How to Make a Card Using a CD
If you have an old CD and CD case laying around your house, then transform it into a unique greeting card for a friend who loves music. You can cover the CD with craft paper and customize it to fit the musical style of the card recipient. Be resourceful, using the craft materials you already have at your house. Present your "CD card" in a decorated CD case.

1
Place your CD on a piece of craft paper. Trace the inner and outer circles with a pencil, and cut out the CD paper template with scissors. Swipe a glue stick on the back of the craft paper and place the paper on the front of the CD. Repeat this step again, gluing the second paper template on the other side of the CD. Allow the CD to dry.

Write a message with paint pens on the front of the CD. For example, a birthday message to a friend who loves hard rock could be the following: "Hope you have a Rockin' Birthday! Love, Molly." Write this around the rim of the CD. Place the CD in the CD case.

Take out the original booklet from the front of the CD case. Close the CD case on top of your decorated CD card. Add embellishments to the front of the CD case. For example, you can draw a border around the front of the case with a metallic paint pen or glitter glue pen. Glue sequins, pompoms or buttons in the shapes of musical notes or instruments at the corners of the case. Be creative.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of gluing paper on your CD, record a birthday greeting or a get well message using a free audio recording program such as Audacity and your computer's microphone. Decorate the outside of the CD case, and present your "CD card" to your friend.
