How to Get the Absolute URL in WordPress Admin

WordPress is a blogging platform that allows you to create your own blog posts and pages and upload media. When you create a post or page in WordPress, the blog database automatically assigns the post with an absolute URL address you can use to link to the content. As you upload media, such as images, WordPress stores them on the server and also provides an absolute URL. You can log in to your WordPress account as the administrator to view the URL address for all content of your WordPress blog.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your WordPress dashboard with your administration account.

    • 2

Click "Posts," "Pages" or "Media" in the left menu, depending on the content you are looking for. This will open up a list of posts, pages or images currently hosted on your WordPress blog.

    • 3

Hover your mouse over the title of the post, page or image. A new menu will appear under the title.

    • 4

Click "View" from the title. This will take you directly to the post, page or image file.

    • 5

View the URL address of the post, page or file displayed in your browser's address bar. You can bookmark the content or right-click the URL and "Copy" the URL for your own purposes.
