Use the Flash Video Encoder included with CS3 to compress FLV files.

CS3, or Creative Suite 3, is a a collection of design, video editing, web publishing and other creative software products made by Adobe. CS3 includes the popular Adobe Acrobat, Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign and Premier programs among many others as part of the software suite. CS3 also includes a program specifically made for compressing video files: Adobe Flash Video Encoder. FLV files are a video-compression format made by Adobe that are relatively small and are often used in web applications.

Instructions

      Open the Adobe Flash Video Encoder application.

      Click on "Add" to choose the source video file you wish to compress as an FLV. If you have different versions of the video, choose a source video file that has the highest quality possible.

      Click the file then select "Settings." A new window will pop up.

      Click the "Open Profile" button.

      Select "Flash Video" from the profile choices.

      Enter the name for the target file.

    • 7

      Click "OK."

      Press the "Queue" option if you wish to add more files to the compression, then repeat steps 1 to 7.

      Click on "Start Queue" in the main window.

    • 10

      Wait for a green circle icon to appear next to the name of the file in the queue, indicating that the file has completed compression.
