How to Make Facebook Instant Message Not Invisible

Facebook gives its users several different modes of communication, from in-site email to wall postings to instant messaging. Facebook instant messaging shows you as "Available" by default. However, once you change your status to "Invisible" it will stay that way for all future site visits. This is easily remedied, and you can set your status to show available again quickly.

Instructions

1. Open an Internet search engine. Navigate to Facebook.com.

2. Type the email address and password linked to your Facebook account into the provided fields at screen right.

3. Navigate to the area at the lower right hand side of the screen where the words "Chat: Offline" appear. Click those words one time. You will now appear online.

   In the future, you will always appear online when you log in to Facebook unless you manually change your settings to "Invisible" again.

Tips & Warnings

• If you wish to change your chat settings back to "Invisible" in the future, click the "Options" tab at the top of your "Online Friends" list. This will pull up a drop-down menu. Choose the first option "Go Offline," and you will appear invisible in the future.
