How to Register on Baidu

Baidu's search engine is a powerful tool for Chinese web browsers.

Baidu is a major Chinese search engine that has been called the "Google" of China. The company's growth has encouraged more and more people to use its services. However, for non-Chinese reading individuals it might be a bit difficult to get registered on the company's website.

Instructions

1. Open your browser and type Baidu.com in the URL box. You will see the main page which is all in Chinese except for the "About Baidu" section.

2. Click on the blue link in the far upper right-hand corner of the page. It is a two character Chinese word for "log in."

3. Click on the gray tab on the right side of the next page. It is an eight character Chinese phrase that means "Register for a Baidu Account." It is above the two blank spaces for login and password.

4. Fill in the blank spaces on the following page. The top spaces asks for a user name, which cannot exceed seven Chinese characters or fourteen alphanumeric characters. The next two horizontal boxes are for a password and confirmation of password. They must be between six and fourteen characters. On the next line, enter whether you are a man or a woman. The left button is for men and the right button is for women.

5. Enter your email address on the following space. On the next line, fill in the letter recognition for anti-spam purposes. Finally, click on the gray box that you agree to the company's terms of service. You are now registered for Baidu.com
