Glow sticks are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and there are many ways to use them to decorate a party. Long, flexible glow sticks can be wrapped around chairs and railings. Small ice cube shaped glow sticks can be used to light up drinks. Glow sticks can also be placed inside of balloons, lighting the balloons up from the inside. Place glow stick balloons around your special event to create an interesting effect.

Things You'll Need

  • Balloons
  • Glow sticks
  • Stretch the balloon by partially inflating it and then allowing it to deflate. This will make it easier to get the glow stick into the balloon.

  • Activate the glow stick. This is usually done by snapping it.

  • Insert the activated glow stick into the balloon.

  • Inflate the balloon completely and tie it off.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use 1-inch glow sticks; they are easier to insert into the balloon.
  • Inflate the balloons with helium to allow them to float.
