How to Make an Offline Link to a Facebook Friend

How to Make an Offline Link to a Facebook Friend thumbnail
You'll probably need to remain logged in to Facebook to browse your friend's page.

Most Internet users have someone they like to check in with regularly on Facebook whether it is a child, a friend or a love interest. If you find yourself visiting the same person's page often, you can save yourself some time by using an offline shortcut. Rather than launching your browser, logging in to Facebook and then navigating to your friend's page, you can get there with just two clicks of your mouse. Even a browser shortcut can't beat that for convenience.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Web browser and go to the Facebook.com website. Click "Keep me logged in" and then enter your email address and password. Click "Log In." You will now remain logged in to your Facebook account whether or not your browser is open.

    • 2

Browse to the page of the friend for whom you'd like to create an offline link.

    • 3

Click the icon on the left side of the address bar and drag it on to your desktop. A shortcut will be created where you drop the icon. Double-click this desktop shortcut to view your friend's page at any time without having to manually launch your browser first.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click the shortcut you created using this procedure and press "F2" to rename it.

  • Make sure the Facebook user whose page you wish to view is on your friend's list. Most Facebook users only allow their friends unrestricted access to their page.
