How to Reopen an Old Yahoo! Account

Yahoo! offers email, Web browsing, instant messaging, advertising, news, online mapping and video sharing. If you have an account that you have deactivated or one that Yahoo! deactivated because you have not logged in for a couple of months, you can reopen it as long as fewer than 90 days have passed since the deactivation. You will have to sign in with your old login data, and if you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by answering the security questions you created.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch an Internet browser, and navigate to yahoo.com.

    • 2

      Click "Sign In."

    • 3

Type your old user name and password. If you've forgotten your password, click "Can't Access My Account." Type your user name. Enter the captcha phrase, and answer your two security questions.

    • 4

Click "Reactivate My Account Without Protection" after you receive notification that your account has been deactivated. Type in your password again. Your account will be reopened.
