VOIP is usually a cost-effective alternative to a land line.

If you're tired of paying exorbitant fees for your land line but you still want to receive calls from friends and family, Voice Over Internet Protocol could be your answer. With VOIP, you can receive calls on a computer from land line or cell phones. All you need to get started receiving calls is a unique phone number, which can be obtained from many VOIP companies for a small fee.
