How to use the Safe Sentry 1230 Combination

Enter your safe combination for access to your valuables.

Sentry Safe products keep your valuables, important documents and cash secure in a sturdy metal case behind a combination or digital combination lock. Opening a Sentry Safe fitted with a dial involves following a set procedure, entering the numbers in a specific way. Safes with an electronic keypad are easier to open but still require the correct combination. Using the combination to open your Sentry Safe takes less than a minute.

Instructions

Unlock a Sentry Safe with a Dial

1. Starting at zero, spin the dial counterclockwise past "0" four times. Stop at the first number of your combination at the fourth pass.

2. Turn the dial clockwise through three complete rotations, stopping at your second number at the third pass.

3. Spin the dial back counterclockwise two full rotations, stopping at your third number of the second pass.

4. Move the dial clockwise to the fourth digit of your combination and pull the handle. The safe opens.

Unlock a Sentry Safe with an Electronic Combination Keypad

1. Locate the electronic combination keypad on the front of the safe. It has numbers 0 to 9, a "Prog" and "Clear" button.

2. Carefully enter your five-digit combination. A green LED lights up while you type.

3. Turn the handle and open the safe. The door opens with the correct combination.
