How to Link Yahoo Mail to a Droid
Smartphones help you to stay in touch while on the go, through voice, text and email. The Motorola Droid, powered by the Android operating system, supports both POP and IMAP email accounts. Yahoo! Mail can be accessed through the Android email application. You can configure the email application to check for new Yahoo! email at regular intervals, play an audio notification or vibrate when new mail arrives and treat your Yahoo! Mail account as your default email account.

Tap the "Applications" icon at the bottom of the Droid home screen. Scroll to the "Email" icon and touch it.

Enter your Yahoo! Mail address and your account password. Tap "Next." The "Email" application will automatically configure the incoming and outgoing server settings.

Enter a name for the Yahoo! Mail account and type your name. Touch "Done."

Press the "Menu" button. Tap "Account Settings."

Tap "Email Check Frequency." Tap a time from "Every 5 Minutes" to "Every Hour" or tap "Never" to only check the account manually.

Tap "Default Account" to make the Yahoo! Mail account your default email account. The account will be used for outgoing emails.

Touch "Email Notifications" to receive notifications of new mail from the account. Tap "Select Ringtone" and select an audio notification sound, or touch "Silent." Tap "Vibrate" and select vibrate settings. Tap the "Previous Screen" button on the phone to return to your inbox.

Tips & Warnings
Yahoo! also has a mail application that can be downloaded from the Android Marketplace. The application lets you use and manage your Yahoo! Mail and also manage your Yahoo! contacts.
