How to Stop IE8 Compatibility Mode
Compatibility view mode is a feature of Internet Explorer 8 used to display incompatible websites as if they were being viewed in Internet Explorer 7. Some websites are automatically viewed in this mode, which can be identified by the grayed compatibility button to the right of the address bar. Although there is no way to completely stop Internet Explorer 8 from using compatibility view, you can configure it to not do so for all websites. In addition, you can manually stop compatibility view for any website you are currently viewing.
