You can broadcast to the world with the Internet.

Perhaps you have been listening to something on your computer, before and wanted to broadcast it to others. You can easily do this via the Internet. All you need to do is sign up for a service which lets you start a channel online where you can broadcast your desktop to others. To share what you are listening to with others via the Internet, you need an application that will let you broadcast the audio feed from your computer.

Instructions

      Go to a site, such as Livestream (livestream.com), Ustream (ustream.tv) or Justin.tv (justin.tv), which let you create a channel that you can broadcast over the Internet from your computer. Sign up for a producer account and then create a channel.

      Download "Procaster" (livestream.com/platform/procaster) and install it on your computer.

      Open "Procaster" and enter your channel name and password. Next, at the bottom right of the podcast screen, click "Preferences."

      Click "Audio" at the top middle of the available tabs. Click the "Screen Audio" menu and choose "Speakers' Audio." Click "Save" at the bottom right of the screen. You will be taken back to the main window for the Procaster application.

      Click "Screen" at the bottom middle on the list of sources. Then, click "Go Live" in the middle of the window. Your channel is now live and broadcasting anything you are listening to on your computer. Share your channel URL with others for them to be able to listen to what you are listening to on your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Share your channel URL on social media sites in order to promote your broadcast.

  • Do not broadcast copyrighted music over the Internet if you do not own the rights to it.
