How to Install "Starcraft V2"
"StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty" is the second in a series of futuristic strategy games released in 2010 by Blizzard Entertainment. "StarCraft II" features a top-view isometric perspective with a variety of units and structures. You can play the game in single-player mode or with other people online in several multiplayer mode variations. You can purchase the game in one of two ways -- on physical DVD or by direct digital download -- and both purchase mediums have separate installation processes.

Insert the "StarCraft II" DVD into your computer's DVD drive. If AutoPlay is activated on your computer, the installer will automatically launch. If not, open the "Computer" icon on the desktop and then double-click on the "StarCraft II" disc icon.

Click on the "Install" button at the top-left corner of the installer screen. The game will install and the installer will also scan your computer and install the newest version of DirectX if necessary.

Enter your serial number when prompted. The serial number is located on your "StarCraft II" game manual. Click "OK" to continue the installation.

Wait until the installation process is completed. An installation progress bar will display.

Eject the DVD from the disc drive and click "Yes" to any patch prompts to update the game to the latest updated version.
Digital Download Installation

Open the Battle.Net website and log in to your Blizzard account.

Click on the "Manage My Games" tab and then click "StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty."

Click on the "PC" or "Mac" client download link depending on your computer platform.

Launch the downloaded installation client.

Click on the "Install" button to scan for the latest version of DirectX and begin the installation process.

Enter your serial number when prompted. Serials for digital downloads are sent to your email address when you purchase the game. Click "OK" to continue installing.

Wait until the installation process is complete and the game will patch to the latest software version.
