How to Apply Face Jewels

One of the more recent trends in makeup is face jewelry. Face jewelry involves applying rhinestones, gem stones, sequins or crystals onto your face as a means of decoration. When using adhesive glue, this jewelry can remain in place for one to three days. The decorations can be applied as single pieces--one gem in the middle of your forehead, for example--or in a multi-stone design that accents specific areas of the face--such as a spattering of rhinestones outlining the corner of your eyes.

Things You'll Need

  • Alcohol swab
  • Acrylic adhesive
  • Tweezers

Clean the area onto which you plan to apply the jewelry using an alcohol swab. Allow the area to fully dry before continuing on to the next step.

Apply a small amount of acrylic adhesive to the back of the jewel. You can find the adhesive online and in some beauty supply stores.

Use a pair of tweezers to pick up the jewel. Make sure that you lift it and are holding it colored side up so that you can place the jewel correctly on your face.

Place the jewel in the designated area. Push down lightly to ensure that the glue sticks.

Allow the adhesive to dry for a few minutes before touching the jewel.

Tips & Warnings

  • The adhesive may cause skin irritation. Test it on a small area of your skin before applying larger amounts to your face.
