How to Send a Sticking Out Tongue on Facebook

Facebook chat is a great way to get back in touch with old friends.

The Facebook social networking website features several ways to communicate with people you know including online "Chat" text messaging. Similar to other instant messaging applications, the Facebook Chat program enables users to send comical "smiley face" graphics when you input special character sequences. Use the Facebook Chat program to send a smiley face with tongue sticking out to someone you have confirmed as a friend on Facebook.

• Facebook account that has confirmed friends

Instructions

1. Log in to Facebook using the email address and password for your account.

2. Click on the "Chat" menu located in the lower right corner of the Facebook Web page. Click on a "friend" that has a green dot next to their name, which indicates that they are currently logged in to Facebook and can receive chat messages.

3. Click once inside the chat text box. Press the "Shift" key and the "Semicolon" key on the keyboard. A colon will appear in the chat text box.

4. Press the "P" key on the keyboard and then press the "Enter" key. Your Facebook "friend" will receive a chat message containing a smiley face with tongue sticking out.
