How to Mute Your Video on Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is a basic digital video authoring software that is preinstalled on Windows computers. Import media into the storyboard timeline or record narration to adjust the volume that is associated with each video or audio track within the timeline. Determine which audio track to mute if you want one to play and not the other, or set both to mute at the same time depending on what you want for your finished movie. You can also fade audio in or out for individual clips until it is completely muted.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Tools" and select "Audio Levels."

    • 2

Select the "Audio" or "Video" tab based on which element you want to mute in your overall video.

    • 3

Drag the volume level slider completely to the left toward the mute icon.

    • 4

      Click "Close."
