DIY Oil Absorbing Sheets

Everyone has oily skin at some point in their life, especially during times of excitement or in warm weather. When the skin is oily it can produce blemishes and make the skin appear unhealthy. Oil absorbing papers, or blotting papers, can gently remove oil without smudging or smearing makeup. These papers can be found in most drugstores, and while they are great for oily skin, they are not so great for the pocket book. An alternative to purchasing these packaged oil absorbing papers is to use different paper with similar effects.

Things You'll Need

  • Rice paper
  • Rolling paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Toilet seat covers
  • Container or baggy
  • Scissors

Obtain one of the following oil absorbing papers: toilet seat covers, rice paper, rolling paper or tissue paper. All of these papers are excellent at absorbing oil and are quite affordable.

Cut the paper to fit a container if needed. The rolling paper and rice paper will most likely already be small in size and will not need to be trimmed or cut. The tissue paper and toilet seat covers will be in larger sheets and will probably need to be cut to fir inside the container or baggy.

Place the absorbing paper in the desired container.

Blot the face with the absorbing paper when skin is oily.

Tips & Warnings

  • Paper towels and toilet paper can also be used to absorb oil, but these papers can be harsher on your skin and remove makeup.
