The box may open with a key or a combination.

The U.S. Postal Service allows anyone to get a PO box at any U.S. post office that has them. The service is popular with people who travel for extended periods of time or maintain seasonal homes. Businesses also use out-of-state PO boxes to maintain a local address in a place where they do not have a physical presence. As easy as it sounds, there is one condition that is not always easy to meet: you have to pick up your PO box combination or keys, in person, at the post office where you rent the box.
