A weave is a hair piece that can used to make hair full and change up your look. It is a temporary fix while you wait for a short hairstyle to grow out. A 10-inch weave allows you to curl and style your hair and still create a long hairstyle. A weave, unlike clip-in extensions, are braided or sewn in, and are real hair, so you may apply heat such as a blow dryer or curling iron.
Things You'll Need
- Wide-tooth comb
- Styling products
- Blow dryer
- 1 1/2-inch curling iron
Comb out all knots and tangles with a wide-tooth comb. Detangle the hair from the bottom, then work your way up to the scalp.
Work in your preferred styling products.
Let the hair dry naturally. If you need it to dry immediately, use a blow dryer cautiously. Avoid direct heat on the roots or where the weave is bonded with your real hair. Dry small sections of hair at a time on a low setting.
Use a curling iron to blend the weave with your real hair. Use a 1- to 1 ½-inch barreled iron for best results with this longer weave. Avoid curling the hair every day, to avoid dull hair and cutting the weave’s longevity.
Let the curls cool and comb through.
Experiment with accessories such as headbands or barrettes.
