A classroom speech workbook provides instruction for giving speeches.

A speech workbook can help you teach speech classes or can provide others with speech instruction. Writing a speech workbook is one exercise that allows you to explore how much you understand about speech, as well as to help others teach and understand what speech is. Writing a speech workbook correctly means transferring information about speech to anyone who wants to learn about it.

Instructions

    • 1

Write an introduction that explains what a speech is --- providing information through talking. Explain as well why speeches are important --- because you can provide information, answer questions and tell stories by speaking to an audience, which is less formal and allows you to communicate with a broader audience.

    • 2

Create a section on finding a speech topic. Explain some ways to find a speech topic and then provide an exercise for workbook users to come up with their own topics. Give several subjects and have users come up with topics based on those subjects.

    • 3

Write a section for your workbook about developing a speech. Explain how you must come up with a beginning, middle and end to your speech. Then, create an exercise, such as having users make a speech outline, which will help them come up with a beginning, middle, and end to their speeches.

    • 4

Create sections for the different types of speeches, such as informative, persuasive and informal. For each section, explain what the type of speech is, how it is used, and why you would use it. Then, give a prompt for readers or workbook users to write a type of speech that fits into the categories.
