How to Install VST in FL Studio
Install your new VST synth and effect plugin into the FL Studio database so that it can be used within the digital audio workstation software. After confirming the folder being used for housing VST's in FL Studio, either install the plugin's DLL file into that folder, or run the VST's installer EXE and select the folder when prompted. FL Studio's "Fast Scan" feature is then utilized to detect the new VST, allowing it to be added to the sequencer or mixer tracks.

1
Open up FL Studio and set the VST folder to be used by the program. Click "Options," "File Settings," then navigate to the "VST plugins extra search folder" section of that screen. Verify that "C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins" is selected as the VST folder location. Click the button with the folder icon; browse to this folder if it has not already been chosen, then select it.

2
Unzip the VST files with an unzipping program, such as WinZip, 7-Zip or Free Zip Wizard. Double-click on the unzipped folder to open it, then install the VST into the VST folder directory. There are two methods for doing this: Double-click the installer EXE file in the folder and select "C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins" as the destination for installation when prompted by the on-screen instructions; or manually copy and paste the VST's DLL file into the "C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins" folder. The two methods of installation for VSTs will depend on the manufacturer's specifications.

The scanning procedure may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to complete. The new VST will then be listed in red lettering within the list of instrument and effect generators.
