How to Import to Picasa
Picasa is a photo and video management program from Google. It is free to download and install from the Picasa website. With Picasa you can view your photos and videos in albums, organize them any way you wish, edit them and share them on the Web. To get Picasa to "see" the files so that you can work with them you must import them. You can import files from your hard drive or any device that contains image or video files, such as a camera, phone or iPod.
Instructions

1
Open Picasa and wait for it to load.
-
2
Click the "Import" button near the upper-right corner of the screen.
-
-
3
Connect a camera or other device to your computer if you want to import from a device other than your hard drive.
-
4
Click the drop-down box next to "Import From" and select the source from which you would like to import. For example, select "Folder" to import photos and videos from a folder on your hard drive or select the name of a device that is connected to your computer. The files in the selected folder or device appear in the left window of Picasa.
-
5
Hold down "Ctrl" and click the individual files you want to import. If you want to import all of the files do not select anything.
-
6
Click the drop-down box under "Import To" and select the folder on your hard drive to which you would like to import the files.
-
7
Type a folder title in the drop-down box labeled "Folder Title." Otherwise, click the arrow next to the box and select "Date Taken" or "Today" to automatically title the folder by date. This is the sub-folder that Picasa will create for saving your photos.
-
8
Click the "Import All" button near the lower-right corner of the screen to import all of the files. Click "Import Selected" if you selected only individual files to import. Picasa copies the files to the selected folder and indexes them for viewing, editing and sharing inside Picasa.
