How to Have Kids on "Sims 3" for iPod Touch

"The Sims 3: Ambitions" updates the iPhone game "The Sims 3" by adding new careers, wishes, hobbies and the ability to have babies. In order to have a baby, you must romance another Sim until he agrees to get married. Once married, you can adopt a baby or try for a baby the old fashioned way. Babies mature into children after a trial period in which you must care for them carefully.

  • Tap the Menu button of your iPod touch or iPhone and scroll until you see the icon for "The Sims 3: Ambitions." Tap this icon to launch the game. Touch the game file you wish to load.

  • Click on the icon of the "Phone", then the option for "Call Friend" then "Invite Over." Tap the icon of your current love interest. This character should have a high relationship level with your Sim and should have a heart next to his icon, signifying that you are romantically involved.

  • Tap on the Sim love interest when she visits your home. Tap the "Be Romantic" option then tap one of the actions, such as "Hug" or "Kiss." Continue engaging in romantic options until the "Get Married" option appears. At the marriage screen, touch anywhere on the screen to return to the game.

  • Improve your Sims mood to improve your chance of successfully having a baby. Look at the mood icon and determine which areas are not green. If your Sim is hungry, tap the fridge and select the snack option. If he is tired, tap the bed and select the nap option. If his fun is low, tap on the TV and select the watch option.

  • Adopt a baby by clicking on the phone and tapping "Adopt a Baby."

  • Create your own baby by tapping on the icon of your spouse and selecting "Be Romantic." Select "Try for Baby." You may have to try for a baby several times before you are successful.
