Upload pictures from your mobile phone to Facebook.

If you have a camera phone, Facebook makes it relatively easy to upload photos directly from your phone to your Facebook profile -- no computer is required after the initial setup. Many smartphone operating systems such as Android, HP Palm webOS and iPhone iOS have Facebook apps available for this purpose, but any phone with email access can upload photos to Facebook.

Instructions

  1. Emailing from Your Phone

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account from your computer. Navigate to the Facebook Mobile page at Facebook.com/mobile/.

    • 2

View your personalized Facebook Mobile email address on the page that appears and enter the address into your phone as a contact.

    • 3

Address an email from your phone to your personalized Facebook Mobile email address. Attach the photo you wish to upload to Facebook to this email. Type a caption for your photo, if you wish, by entering it on the "Subject" line of the message. Note that you can only send one photo at a time using this method.

    • 4

Check your Facebook account to see that your photo has successfully uploaded. Photos uploaded by email may take a few hours to appear on your Facebook page.

    Using Your Phone's Facebook App

    • 5

Open your phone's Facebook App. Click either the "Camera" icon or the button labeled "Photos" near the box where you would normally type status updates.

    • 6

Select the photo that you want to upload when prompted. Add a caption, then click or tap the "Upload" button to start the file transfer.

    • 7

Watch the status messages at the bottom of your Facebook app. The first message will tell you that your photo is uploading. The second will tell you that it has loaded successfully or failed to upload. In the latter case, simply try again, as it may be a temporary glitch.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a good 3G or 4G signal, you should be able to upload photos to Facebook using your phone's wireless network. If you find that photos fail to upload or upload very slowly, use a Wi-Fi connection instead, if available. In most cases, a strong Wi-Fi connection will be faster for uploading your photos.

  • Facebook Mobile can send your personalized Facebook Mobile email address directly to your cellphone. Click the "Send My Upload Email to Me Now" link on the Facebook Mobile page while you are logged into your Facebook account from your computer.
