Tell your mother when you are feeling positive and self-confident about yourself, not in anger or during an argument. The environment in which you choose to come out will affect both your mother's feelings and your own, so try to choose a positive environment and time.

Remember that you do not have to tell your mother every detail about your love life when coming out. If you are in a relationship that you do not want to talk about, give yourself the freedom to keep some details to yourself.
